Curator

For the Artists’ Legacies in Museums project, a collaboration between the Art 360 Foundation and the International Curators Forum, Tosin Adeosun was entrusted with the task of curating the extensive archive of the renowned British Jamaican photographer, Vanley Burke. Over the course of more than a year, Tosin diligently delved into Burke’s collection of photographs, magazines, books, textiles, and artworks, forging a close working relationship with the artist himself.

The core objective of the project was to explore innovative ways for museums to interact with archives, reassess their collection methods, and devise strategies for connecting with future audiences. Following meticulous research, Tosin shared her insights during a study day held at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, featuring a presentation, workshop, and a thought-provoking discussion with Vanley Burke.
